Titled “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac – Battle for Sanctuary”, the upcoming second season of the 3D anime “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac” revealed poster and announced Japan premiere.
Following the intense battles of saints, the “Saint Seiya” franchise originated from the popular manga by Kurumada Masami, which surpassed more than 3.5 million copies sold. Using the latest 3D technology, the first season “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac” revived the series while adapting the “Silver Saints” story arc combined with a brand new original plot, gathering new fans throughout the globe.
Besides Netflix the first season will be streaming exclusively in Japan on online streaming platforms such as U-NEXT and Anime Houdai starting from August 19, 2022 (12:00).
The second season “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac – Battle for Sanctuary” premiered worldwide on July 31, 2022, and will also be arriving on Japan.
The poster features Athena holding her staff behind the Bronze Saints – Seiya, Shiryu, Yoga, Shun, and Ikki as they assume their fight stances with steady fists, prepared to stand up against the 12 Golden Saints. This single image condenses all the drama and action from the quest for rescuing the goddess Athena.
The second season follows the storyline of the most popular arc of the series, the “Sanctuary Arc”. While still being faithful to the original plot, the anime promises to spice up the series with epic 3D action scenes. The trailer leaves the fans with high expectations as Seiya and his friends ascend the temples to confront their mightiest foes so far, the Golden Saints. Do keep an eye open for the announcement of premiering dates and new updates on the release.
