“Penguindrum” is an original anime, which was broadcast on TV in July 2011. The anime drew much attention from the anime fans for the unique characters originally designed by Hoshino Lily, unpredictable development with a series of mysteries arising from the question “What is ‘Penguindrum’?”, and the worldview created by the Crystal World and other unique visuals.
“RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM” is a two-part compilation film produced by adding completely new parts to the reconstruction of the TV series. While Part 1 was released on April 29, Part 2 is scheduled to be released on July 22.
The trailer features the story corresponding to the latter part of the TV series, Purinchu Penguin (CV: Uesaka Sumire), who has left some mystery in Part 1, and Kanba and Shoma, who have grown up since then. Please look forward to “the finale of the film”, which will be different from the TV series. You cannot miss out on the inserted song “AFTER ’45” by Triple H either.
