The broadcast date for the TV anime “A Couple of Cuckoos” has been set, and it will air in TV Asahi’s late-night anime slot “NUMAnimation” from April 23, 2022. In addition, the ending theme song will be performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia, and the second main PV has been released.
“A Couple of Cuckoos” is a life-crossing romantic comedy serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” by Yoshikawa Miki, a manga artist known for “Flunk Punk Rumble” and “Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches”.
The work depicts the misguided slapstick that unfolds in the lives of Umino Nagi and Amano Erika, who were mistaken for each other when they were born and are officially recognized by both families as one’s fiancé(e) .
In conjunction with the announcement of the broadcast date, the ending theme song has also been revealed. The ending theme song will be performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia, a music unit that is gaining support from the younger generation. The title is “Shikaku Unmei,” and it is an intense yet sad song that evokes the heroines’ mixed feelings. Comments from Sangatsu no Phantasia have also been received.
Responding to the voice “Can’t wait for the start!”, the second main PV has arrived. The second PV shows the intertwining “fates” of the four main characters, played by Ishikawa Kaito, Kito Akari, etc., to the song “Shikaku Unmei” sung by Sangatsu no Phantasia.
The TV anime “A Couple of Cuckoos” will air on 24 TV Asahi affiliated stations on April 23 from 1:30 a.m..
The main character, Nagi, is clumsy but hardworking, innocent but naturally kind. And unexpectedly he is strong. You may be tempted to follow such a boy with your eyes without realizing it…!
I wrote a song about the sweet bitterness and conflict of Erika, Hiro, Sachi, and girls as we empathize with their emotional turmoil.
We hope you will love it along with the anime and the original work.
