“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” box office exceeded “10 billion JPY”! “Thank you so much”

The box office of the movie “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time”, released on March 8, 2021, has finally exceeded 10 billion JPY.

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” is the latest and final movie following “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.”, “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.”, and “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.” of the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series that has been released since 2007.
It has surpassed the highest record in the “Evangelion” series, “Shin Godzilla” (released in 2016 / 8.25 billion), and continues to set the highest record among director Anno Hideaki’s works, from the release until July 12. In 127 days after the release, the box office revenue exceeded 10,015.82 million JPY, and the audience exceeded 6.55 million.

In addition to the report, Toei added, “This is the result of the existence and thoughts of each and every one of the visitors. Thank you very much.”

Looking back on the box office revenue of this series, the box office of “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.” released in 2007 was 2 billion JPY, the box office of “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.” released in 2009 was 4 billion JPY, and the box office “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.” released in 2012 was 5.3 billion JPY. And, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.” released in 2021 reached 10 billion JPY at the moment, and the new work always sets a big record. This is an exceptionally rising uncompared record.

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.” is currently in theaters. In some theaters the screening will end on July 21, so please check the official website of the movie theater near you or the theater list of “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.” before visiting the movie theater.
