It has been decided for some anime works to be broadcast on “Kinyo Road SHOW!”, for five consecutive weeks during summer 2020. The anime works include ”Koe no Katachi”, which is new but has a potential to help Japanese theatre anime to develop, and masterpieces of Studio Ghibli.
On Jul. 31, ”Koe no Katachi” will be broadcast. It depicts a painful but beautiful youth story between a shy boy and a deaf girl. This work, produced by Kyoto Animation known for ”K-ON!” and “Sound! Euphonium”, has won an outstanding performance award at Japan Academy Film Prize and other high praises at Annecy International Animation Film Festival and others. It is a touching movie, which children living in the present should watch.
On Aug. 7, “Fireworks, Should We See Them from the Side or from Below?”, which was released in 2017, will be on-air for the first time. It was managed by Shinbo Akiyuki known for “Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica” and “Kizumonogatari”, and depicts a story of a seventh grade girl and boy, who had a mysterious experience in summer. The theme song by DAOKO and Yonezu Kenshi has also become popular.
For three weeks from Aug. 14, Studio Ghibli anime will be broadcast, starting with “My Neighbor Totoro” by Miyazaki Hayao.
On Aug. 21, the full-length version of “From Up On Poppy Hill” will be broadcast. It is set in 1963, when the last Tokyo Olympic was held, and depicts charming but brilliant 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy living honestly. Nagasawa Masami, Okada Junichi, and others are voicing.
On Aug. 28, the full-length version of “The Borrower Arrietty” will be broadcast. It depicts a little girl and boy living under the floor. Shida Mirai, Kamiki Ryunosuke, Otake Shinobu and others are voicing.
【Let’s enjoy anime during summer! Natsu ani 2020】 will be held on “Kinyo Road SHOW!” from Jul. 31. You can enjoy new works and masterpieces of Studio Ghibli.
