The “Evangelion” series began in 1995 with the broadcast of the animated TV series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and has since expanded into a variety of media including comics, movies, and video games, creating a social phenomenon. In 2007, the “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series was launched. Following “1.0”, “2.0”, and “3.0”, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” was released in 2021, recording a box-office revenue of 10.28 billion yen, the biggest hit of the series.
Scenes from “Evangelion: 3.0(-46h),” which was previously shown at “Wonder Festival 2023 [Winter]” on February 12, have been unveiled, and the full contents of “Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon a Time” have also been revealed. In addition to the previously announced “Evangelion: 3.0(-46h)” and “Rebuild of Evangelion: 3.0+1.11”, it was revealed that “Evangelion: 3.0(-120min.)” will be included as a new video. This is a motion comic adaptation of the newly drawn manga of the same title that appeared in the official booklet “EVA-EXTRA-EXTRA,” which was distributed as an admission bonus during the “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” screenings.
Also included is a partially edited video of the “Big hit thank-you stage greeting” held on April 11, 2021 at Shinjuku Wald 9 with Anno Hideaki, Tsurumaki Kazuya, Maeda Masahiro, and Ogata Emi on stage, and a voice message from the cast broadcast during the “Shin Evangelion All Night Nippon” radio special aired on June 21, 2021.
In addition, the original soundtrack CD “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time original soundtrack” that comes with the limited edition released by Kinkurido will include the songs used in “Evangelion: 3.0(-46h)” and “Evangelion: 3.0(-120min.)”, as well as the bonus track “What If? – memorial vocal” sung by Takahashi Yoko.
