“Laputa”, “Totoro”, “Whisper of the Heart”… Let’s also enjoy this summer with Ghibli! Three consecutive weeks on “Friday Roadshow”!

It was revealed that Studio Ghibli’s works will be broadcast consecutively for 3 weeks again this year on Nippon TV’s “Friday Roadshow”. “Castle in the Sky” will be broadcast on August 12, “My Neighbor Totoro” will be broadcast on August 19, and “Whisper of the Heart” will be broadcast on August 26. All of these works are related to the currently developing facilities of “Ghibli Park” that will open in Aichi prefecture on November 1.

On the first night August 12, the masterpiece adventure & action work of director Miyazaki Hayao, “Castle in the Sky” will be broadcast. The story focused on the great adventure of Pazu and Sheeta that revolves around the mysterious stone, Aetherium. What exactly is the secret of the floating castle, Laputa? So, please do enjoy the famous scenes and phrase again.
In the “Ghibli Park”, the construction of the elevator tower that has the share the same 19th century setting with some imaginary science element of this work, was finished. It seems that the robotic soldiers can be found at the “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse”.

On the second night August 19, the famous fantasy work of director Miyazaki Hayao, “My Neighbor Totoro” will be broadcast. The primary schooler Satsuki and her sister, Mei move to the outskirt of town. Then, they encounter a mysterious living being when wander deep in the forest. This is a famous work that will make you feel at ease regardless of the time you have viewed it.
The area “Dondoko Forest” inspired by this work will appear in “Ghibli Park”. The facility “Satsuki and Mei’s House” was recreated faithfully according to the house that both of them have stay in.

On the third night August 26, the youth love story produced and written by Miyazaki Hayao, and directed by Kondo Yoshifumi, “Whisper of the Heart” will be broadcast. This is a story filled with hope toward the future and the bittersweet yet somehow nostalgic romance between the girl aiming to be a novelist and the boy aiming to be a violin craftsman.
The antique shop “World Emporium” was recreated in “Ghibli Park”, and it will surely be a place that will have your imagination goes wild on the story of the two.

Studio Ghibli’s “Castle in the Sky”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, and “Whisper of the Heart” will be broadcast on Nippon TV’s “Friday Roadshow” on August 12, August 19, and August 26 respectively in the uncut version. Do take this chance to review on it before the start of “Ghibli Park” in fall.
