From “RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM [Part 1] Kimi no Ressha wa Seizon Senryaku” (to be released on April 29, 2022), an edited movie of Ikuhara Kunihiko’s original anime “Penguindrum,” a trailer featuring a new part and a new theme song has been released. In addition, Uesaka Sumire will be playing a new character, Princhu Penguin, and a visual of Oginome Momoka, played by Toyosaki Aki, as well as comments from both cast members have also arrived.

“Penguindrum” is an original anime that was broadcast on TV in July 2011. The unique characters are based on Hoshino Lily’s original idea, and the story is filled with the question, “What is ‘Penguindrum’?” The work attracted a lot of attention from anime fans when it was first broadcast, with how mystery unfolds another mystery and unique visual worldview, such as the crystal world.

“RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM” is a two-part edited movie that reconstructs the TV series and adds a completely new part.
In the trailer released this time, the story of the “survival strategy” to save the life of his sick sister, Himari (CV: Arakawa Miho), is introduced in the TV series footage, and then the completely new part is shown for the first time.
The two brothers Kanba (CV: Kimura Subaru) and Shoma (CV: Kimura Ryohei) appear as children, Oginome Momoka (CV: Toyosaki Aki) dressed as the Princess of the Crystal, and a new penguin character, Princhu Penguin (CV: Uesaka Sumire), who speaks the penguin language such as “Bakkyu” for a while, appear.

In addition, the theme song for the second part of the film, which follows the first part, will be a new song by the Yakushimaru Etsuko Metro Orchestra, “Boku no Sonzai Shoumei”. A part of the song was already unveiled for the first time in the trailer.

The movie “RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM [Part 1] Kimi no Ressha wa Seizon Senryaku” will be screened on April 29. The second part is scheduled to be released in 2022.
In addition, an exhibition commemorating the 10th anniversary of “Exhibition Penguindrum -Unmei no Itaru Basho-” will be held in Tokyo and Osaka from April 29. For details, please visit the official website.

Thanks to all of you who have continued to love the work, I am able to voice Momoka again, and I am filled with gratitude.
