‘MOOMIN OFFICIAL SHOP’, Japan’s first official online shop of ‘Moomin’ that is partnered with Moomin Characters from Finland, had its grand opening on March 1st. The lineup includes the items that can only be ordered on the online shop.

‘Moomin’ is a character created by the Swedish-speaking Finnish author Tove Jansson. It is a fantasy that tells a story about eccentric but cute characters including the main character Moomin and his family, Snufkin, Little My, and the Hattifatteners. In addition to the novels, comic books, and picture books published so far, animation works and merchandise are also popular all around the world.
In Japan, an animation series started in 1990 with the title “Tanoshii Moomin Ikka (Delightful Moomin Family)” with voice actors Minami Takayama, Akio Otsuka, Takehito Koyasu, and more.

‘MOOMIN OFFICIAL SHOP’ had limited pre-opening starting on December 1 prior to the holiday season. Some of the items that sold out immediately at the pre-opening, such as the stuffed toys of Moomin “Angry Face” and “Nervous Face” and “Hattifatteners Glass Ornament” will be available again with the grand opening.

The lineup includes items that are only available at the online shop, such as the “ABC Collection”, which will be sold in Japan for the first time, and the collaborative bags and wallets with the long-established bag brand Kitamura, which are perfect for a Mother’s Day gift.

Also, in commemoration of the grand opening, a marche bag will be presented to those who make a purchase of over 10,000 JPY, and “Happy Box”, a reasonable set of items will be available. Visit the official website for more details such as the price of each item.
