From the fall anime “Blue Period”, the outline and sneak peek of episode 2 “He’s Not Tanned At All” (broadcast on Saturday, October 9) have been revealed.
“Blue Period” is based on an art/coming-of-age manga written by Yamaguchi Tsubasa, which is currently serialized in “Monthly Afternoon”.
Yaguchi Yatora is a high school student, who has good grades and belongs to the higher caste at his school, but is feeling inner emptiness and frustrations for some reason. The story follows him getting dedicated to the beautiful yet harsh world of art after he was fascinated by a painting.
Episode 2 is titled “He’s Not Tanned At All”.
Yatora spends his days at the art club under the instructions of Saeki, who is the advisor there. Other members are surprised to know that Yatora has completed 30 drawings during the summer vacation. Yatora is shocked to hear that Mori-senpai, who drew “Picture of Angel”, is the 5th from the bottom in the preparatory school.
In the following year, Mori-senpai graduated from the school, leaving a picture of “Nike” to Yatora. Yatora gives his mother, who won’t allow him to take an exam for an art college, a painting that describes her everyday life.
“He’s Not Tanned At All”, episode 2 of “Blue Period”, was broadcast on the nationwide MBS/TBS franchised 28 networks from October 9.
