It’s been almost two years since “Hypnosis Mic” had an audience! 7th live report of the fusion with hip-hop and mixture legends!

The main cast of “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle” gathered for the live “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle 7thLIVE 《SUMMIT OF DIVISIONS》” on August 7 and 8, 2021 at Yokohama Pia Arena MM. The show was held three ways: with an audience at Yokohama Pia Arena MM, live viewing at movie theaters nationwide, and streaming via “ABEMA”.

The live started with “Hoodstar +” as the 18 member Division All Stars from 6 divisions appeared on stage. The 18 member act lightly rapped the pop songs, connected their microphones, and excited the audience with their performance as if to tell them how happy they were to be able to perform live in front of them. They performed “Survival of the Illest +” and “Hang out!” in succession with all 18 members in different costumes from Day 1. They overwhelmed the audience with the power of their all-out battle.

This was followed by a sequence in which each division performed a solo song. Osaka Division’s “Dotsure Honpo” performed “Ah, Osaka dreamin'night,” a song with an impressive Kansai dialect created by Creepy Nuts; Shibuya Division’s “FlingPosse performed a poetic and emotional “Stella,” “Bad Ass Temple,” Nagoya Division “Bad Ass Temple” sang “Bad Ass Temple Funky Sounds” by nobodyknows+, a group from Nagoya that also participated in the red vs white competition.

Yokohama Division “MAD TRIGGER CREW” performed ” Dead Pools,” one of the hardest songs from “Hypnosis Mic,” and Asanuma Shintaro, who plays Samatoki Aohitsugi, called out to the audience, “I won’t forget this scene.” Ikebukuro Division “Buster Bros!” showed their skills of rapping a cappella with “IKEBUKURO WESTGAME PARK”, and Shinjuku Division’s “Matenro” performed “ShinjukuStyle – Don’t make me laugh”, which packed the charm of rhymes typical of rap music. Each division developed songs that expressed their own characteristics and originality.

Then came “Kizuna” by the four divisions of Buster Bros, MAD TRIGGER CREW, Fling Posse, and Asenrao, which was the ending theme of the anime “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle: Rhyme Anima”, and the guest of the day, Suchadarapar, appeared on stage. As they said, “This has become the most considered song in the 30 years since their debut,” they wrote “Summit of Division” which is included in the CD of the first limited edition of “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle Official Guide Book.

On this long-awaited day, they performed “GET UP AND DANCE”, “Boogie Back Tonight”, “Summer Jam & apos;95” and other classics that shined in the history of Japanese music. The audience applauded loudly.

Then, on the monitor above the stage, the “Word Leaf Party” of the Chuoh Ward, the powerhouse of the Hypnosis Mic world, appeared. They gave an overview of the current viewer participation battle >, the three voting elements and how to participate, as well as the date and time of the Final Battle midterm and results announcement, and announced the first 3DCG live of “Hypnosis Mic”, “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle 3 DCG LIVE “HYPED-UP01”, will be held.

At this point, the 18 Division members appeared on stage again. From here on, the songs of > became the center of the stage. Dotsuitare Honpo performed “Wara Osaka~What a OSAKA!” produced by Tortoise Matsumoto and SHINGO☆Nishinari, BadAss Temple performed “Kaigan” which showed the strength of their feelings, and MAD TRIGGER CREW performed the wild “HUNTINGCHARM”.

In addition, Buster Bros! performed “Re:start! which was produced by Henshin Gentlemen’s Club, “Tomoshibi” by Matenro and “Black Journey” by Fling Posse, which gave a big turning point to the world view of Hypnosis Mic. They showed the rich variety of Hypnosis Mic songs and the precision of the world view.

After a collaborative performance by DJ-U-ICHI and the Hypnosis Mic dance team “D.D.B.”, Nakao Ku appeared on stage, giving the audience a glare from the high stage on the lift, declaring himself the ruler of this world. After the performance of “Femme Fatale”, Kobayashi Yu, who plays the role of Otome Tohoten, called out to the divisions, “This is the last spurt. Warriors, fight fair and square,” followed by three battle songs by >.

After the Hypnosis Mic members left the stage, Dragon Ash appeared with their band set. Following “New Era” and “Fly Over feat. T$UYO$HI”, the winning team of the first round of > produced by Dragon Ash, BusterBros! The audience applauded the performance of the new song performed live by Dragon Ash.

At the end of the show, Kimura Subaru, who plays Yamada Ichiro from Buster Bros!, said, “>, I think we fought fair and square. Last spurt! Let’s get excited!” Following this, the 18 members performed “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle +”, the symbolic song of Hypnosis Mic. The audience applauded and clapped their hands again, and the clapping became even louder for “Hypnosis Mike -Division Battle Anthem- +”.

When they finished singing the last song “Summit of Divisions”, each member had a smile on their face and expressed the satisfaction of the day by fist-bumping each other regardless of divisions. At the end of the live, Kimura-san called out “Rap is Tano C!(fun)” and the members and the audience raised C hand signs to wrap up the venue, marking the end of the first live for Hypnosis Mic in 2 years.

In the future, “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle” will hold a 3DCG live where the characters will actually perform live in front of an audience, “Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle 3DCG LIVE “HYPED-UP01 ” will be held at Intex Osaka on December 18 and 19, 2021, and at Makuhari Messe on January 8, 9, and 10, 2022.

The logo for the show, which is a different design from the previous ones, has been released, with the letters “HYPED-UP” colored in the colors of the six divisions to represent the 3DCG world view, and expectations are high for further information.
