“Shin-Eva” is on the verge of the 10 billion yen mark! Box office revenue tops 9.99 billion yen!

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” , which is currently in theaters, has grossed over 9.99 billion yen in the 126 days since its release until July 11, 2021. It is finally approaching the 10 billion yen mark as the movie run ends.

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” is the latest and final installment in the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series, which began in 2007 and follows “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone “, “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance”, and “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo”.

In the two days between July 10 and 11, the film grossed 167 million yen and with 102,000 viewers, and in the 126 days between March 8 and July 11, it has grossed 9.997 billion yen and with 6.54 million viewers. The film will end on July 21, except for some theaters, and the last run is now in its final phase.

On July 11, the “last” stage greeting of “Rebuild of Evangelion” was held twice under the title of “Finale Stage Greeting” by Ogata Megumi, Mitsuishi Kotono, Yamaguchi Yuriko, Tachiki Fumihiko, and Anno Hideaki, the general director. There was a lot of excitement as the cast members who have appeared in the show since the first episode of the TV series talked about their memories and behind-the-scenes stories, and the general director Anno-san talked about the settings of the work for the first time.
Anno-san also expressed his gratitude to the fans by saying, “I would like to thank you once again for allowing us to reach the 10 billion mark under these circumstances”.
