It was decided that the film “RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM” of the original anime “Penguindrum” by the director Ikuhara Kunihiko will be released in 2022 in two compilations. The YouTube project “RE:cycle of TV series” will be broadcast each episode of the TV series weekly has started on July 7, 2021.
“Penguindrum” is an original anime that was broadcast on TV in July 2011. This is a work that has attracted the attention of anime fans during the TV broadcast due to the unique characters drawn by Hoshino Lily, the riddle within riddles developments of “What’s ‘Penguindrum?”, and the world setting that used a unique visual, such as the crystal world.
The 10th-anniversary project was announced on March 31, 2020, and it has also become a trend due to the announcement on the production of the “film” which is a compilation of the TV series with new added scenes, and the crowdfunding that was supported by over 5,000 fans.
The latest announcement is that the film “RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM” will be released in 2022 in two-compilation, and the logo design has been released for the first time.
The YouTube project “RE:cycle of TV series” will be broadcast each episode of the TV series weekly has started on July 7, 2021.
As July 7 is the exact date of the broadcast of episode 1 “The Bell of Fate Tolls” 10 years ago, they decided to mimic the TV broadcast and upload each episode weekly on the YouTube channel of “King Amusement Creative”. Each episode will only be available for one week.
Also, to commemorate the 10th anniversary, the collaboration cafe will be held from July 27 to August 25, at “Animax Cafe+”. Detailed information will be revealed at a later date.
