By the official Twitter of the TV anime “If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die” that aired from January to March 2020, a project “Which Type Are You? You Will Know Your Favorite Type by ‘Otaku Test’ has been conducted.
Related words such as “#oshibudo” and “#allokayaman” became a trending topic, and some fans quickly found out what type of otaku they are, while other fans were hoping for a sequel, saying “Please keep up this momentum and make a second season!”
“If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die” is based on a manga of the same title by Hirao Auri, which has been serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s “COMIC Ryu web”. It is about an underground idol group, ChamJam, and a small following in Okayama.
In a project posted by the official Twitter account of the work on April 6, 2021, “Which Type Are You? You Will Know Your Favorite Type by ‘Otaku Test’ was conducted. By answering questions such as “I prefer cats to dogs” and “I talk too fast,” users can find out their otaku type applying it to the characters in the work, such as “Eripiyo type”. In addition, it will also suggest a recommended favorite character from among the characters.
Besides the words “#oshibudo” and “#allokayaman” became a trending topic on Twitter in response to this project, many people were hoping for a second season.
By the way, I tried the test and turned out to be the realist “Yoshikawa type”. I was suggested “Why don’t you become a ‘manager’?” for a recommended favorite character…….
The anime “If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die” is available for unlimited streaming on FOD, d-anime store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai, and will be streamed on Hulu and Netflix from May 1.
