“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” (released on March 8, 2021) has recorded a total of 6,898,613,200 JPY in gross revenue and 4,513,374 audiences after being released for 28 days. It seems that the highest record for this series is being overwritten yet again.
“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” is the latest as well as the finale of the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series, which was released in 2007 and it is the sequel to “You Are (Not) Alone”, “You Can (Not) Advance.”, and “You Can (Not) Redo”.
After being postponed several times, it was finally released nationwide on March 8 after undergoing the necessary steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The results on April 3 (Saturday) and April 4, 2021 (Sunday) are 320,547,250 JPY in gross revenue and 196,321 viewers and most of the viewers are youngsters as it is spring break.
With this, the overall results since the release date is a total of 6,898,613,200 JPY in gross revenue and 4,513,374 viewers. Thus, the gross revenue and audience records for this series has been overwritten once again.
