The completely new TV anime series “SHAMAN KING” will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from April 2021, and the teaser visual and teaser PV have been released.
In addition to Youko Hikasa, who plays the main protagonist Asakura Yoh, comments from the cast who stay from the broadcast of 2000, Konishi Katsuyuki as Amidamaru, Hayashibara Megumi as Anna, and Takayama Minam as Hao, have also arrived.

“SHAMAN KING” is a fighting story about Asakura Yoh, one of the “Shamans” who can interact with gods and spirits and aims to become the king of the stars “Shaman King”, who can control everything in this world, battles for a position in “Shaman Fight”, which opens once every 500 years.
The original manga by Takei Hiroyuki is currently serialized under the title “Shaman King: Super Star” in “Shonen Magazine Edge”.

The teaser visual released this time, shows Yoh facing the front with a dignified expression holding “Harusama”.

The teaser PV shows Yoh facing Hao, Amidamaru, and Anna, while Yoh stays in the Over-Soul form “Spirit of Sword Hakuho”. Please, check out the finished broadcast in April 2021.

As for the cast, Hikasa Youko will be playing the main protagonist, Asakura Yoh. Konishi Katsuyuki will be playing the role of Amidamaru, Hayashibara Megumi will be playing the role of Anna, and Takayama Minami will be playing the role of Hao, as they have been doing from the TV anime series in 2000.
Moreover, the production staff includes director Furuta Jouji known for “The Seven Deadly Sins” and “Gekijouban Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love Kingdom”, Yonemura Shouji as a scenarist, Sano Toshihiko as character designer, Hayashi Yuki as the music director, Mima Masafumi as the sound director, and Bridge ((“FAIRY TAIL “etc.)) will be responsible for the animation production.

Asakura Yoh: CV Hikasa Youko

Q1. Could you tell us about the charm of this work?
I think that it is because of Takei Hiroyuki’s skills in drawing things that are usually associated with the fear, spirits, graves, and Osorezan, in a pop style.
Maybe ghosts aren’t scary, but if there are Amidamaru and others, who I would love to meet! I think that the attractive character image is one of the strong points.
I love Yuru, who every time finishes with a gag, and everyone’s facial expressions at that moment.
The music is also great, and I remember that Hayashibara-san’s songs “Over Soul,” “Northern lights,” and “brave heart” shook my childhood heart at that time.
Q2. Could you tell us about your feelings for playing the character Asakura Yoh?
To be honest, I felt a lot of pressure!
But I’m the one… I love Yoh, Anna, and their friends, and I want to play Yoh in a way that only I can do.
Some of my colleagues are veterans who I saw before I became a voice actress.
Being surrounded by such people and having a conversation together during recording is a blessed chance that I haven’t got before in my acting career.
It would be great if I could be like that, just as Yoh grow little by little and is recognized by the people around.

Amidamaru: CV Konishi Katsuyuki
Q1. Could you tell us about the charm of this work?
As a guy, I like battles. With enemies who gradually become stronger.
I was especially excited to see what kind of spirits would come out. A spirit is a spirit, so anything is possible, right? LOL
And there are no bad guys. Each person has their own feelings.
And Yoh-kun’s way of life is wonderful. “Everything will work out in the end” is a good saying.
Q2. Please give a few words to your fans who are looking forward to you playing Amidamaru again.
As the lyrics of “Over Soul” say, “Revived”, this is also thanks to everyone who has loved and supported “SHAMAN KING” for many years. I would like to run through with Haden and Amidamaru. I am looking forward to seeing Amidamaru again.

Q1. Could you tell us about the charm of this work?
Not to mention the charm of the story and characters, I think the charm is that it is full of themes to which you can sympathize with from your own experience. Friendship and love, family and siblings, courage, bonds, strength, etc. I like to see the essence that doesn’t change at any time in battle.
It’s also great because it’s so nostalgic.

Q2. Please give a few words to your fans who are looking forward to you playing Hao again.
Thank you everyone who has been supporting “SHAMAN KING” for a long time. I also missed it when I went to the original painting exhibition and decorating goods, but I never thought that I will play Hao again. I want to turn this luck into power and put up a fight.
