The popular children's book “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendou” with over 1.4 million copies receives a TV anime adaption. Broadcast will start from Sep. 8 on NHK E Tele.
“Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendou” is a children's book written by Hiroshima Reiko and illustrated by jyajya. It currently has 13 volumes published.
“Zenitendou” is a mysterious Dagashiya (candy shop), which only the lucky ones can visit. The shop keeper Benko always finds the perfect candy for the customers. But what happens when you eat it or use it in the wrong way…? It could bring you happiness or cause you misery. It's all up to you…
The series ranked 4th place in “2nd 'Children's Books' Poll Chosen by Elementary School Students”. It's the only reading material for children in the top 5, which is dominated by encyclopedias and picture books.
Tomioka Satoshi will be directing the animation with Toei Animation and Kanaban Graphics working on the production.
