The release of the “Pokémon the Movie: Coco”, which was initially scheduled for Jul. 10, 2020, was decided to be delayed. Toho Co., Ltd. has explained that the delay was due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
“Pokémon the Movie: Coco” is the 23rd “Pokémon Film”, which started with “Pokémon: The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back” in 1998.
Yajima Tetsuo will be returning as the director in two years since “Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us” in 2018 to weave a completely original story.
There is an explanation of the delay on the official website, “We have decided to delay the release of “Pokémon the Movie: Coco”, which was scheduled to premiere on Friday, Jul. 10, 2020, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.” They followed with an apology to their fans, “We sincerely apologize to the fans who were looking forward to the film.”
The new release date of “Pokémon the Movie: Coco” is yet to be determined. It will be announced on the official website when decided.
