Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) had announced that LiSA's “Gurenge” (Opening theme song of TV Anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”) had achieved “Triple Platinum (Total download exceed 750,000)” in the “Paid music subscription work as at Mar. 2020″.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is originally a Japanese style fantasy manga by Gotouge Koyoharu and is currently serialized on “Weekly Shounen Jump” since 2016.
The setting takes place during the Taisho Period of Japan. The story starts with a demon attacking the family of the kind charcoal seller young boy, Tanjirou when he left the house. The lone survivor, his younger sister Nezuko had turned into a demon. To revert her to a human and to avenge his family, he goes on a trip with Nezuko…
The work got an anime adaptation from Apr. until Sep. 2019 and it created by ufotable (famously known for the TV Anime “Fate/stay night[Unlimited Blade Works]”, the movie “Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel]”, etc.).
LiSA's “Gurenge” was used as the opening theme from episode 1 until the last episode, which spans over 2 cour (24 episodes).
Moreover, in the “Paid music subscription work of Mar. 2020”, other than LiSA's “Gurenge” obtaining the triple platinum, ClariS “Connect” (Theme song for “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”) had achieved double platinum (Total download exceed 500,000) as well.
