The broadcast of the TV anime “IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT!”, which started in Apr. 2020, has been postponed. According to the official website, the production had been underway for a sufficient period of preparation, but the declaration of a state of emergency in response to the spread of the new coronavirus had a major impact on the schedule.
“IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT!” is originally a rhythm game for smartphones.
The 1st season of the TV series and a spin-off were broadcast in 2018, while the long-awaited 2nd season had just started in Apr. 2020.
On the official website, the reason for the postponement was explained; “We had been preparing for the production for a sufficient period, but the government's declaration of a state of emergency in response to the international and domestic spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) has had a significant impact on our originally planned schedule, therefore we have decided to postpone the release”.
Regarding the new schedule, it was stated that “The 4th episode will be broadcast from Apr. 19 (Sun.) as planned, the 5th and next episodes will be postponed, and “IDOLiSH7 1st Season Selection” will be broadcast sequentially from Apr. 26 (Sun.).
The restarting of the broadcast is yet to be determined. The new schedule will be announced on the official website as soon as it is decided.
In addition, the release of the CD songs “DiSCOVER THE FUTURE / IDOLiSH7” and “Re:vale – Mirai Notes wo Kanadete”, and the BD & DVD “IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT! Special Limited Edition Volumes 1 to 7” have been postponed as well.
