“Umineko When They Cry” (abbr. Umineko) is a sound novel released in 2007 from Doujin circle called “07th Expansion”. Ryukishi07 is the president of “07th Expansion” and he is also known as the author of “Higurashi When They Cry” (addr. Higurashi).
This story takes place in Roken Island owned by the millionaire family Ushiromiya. The main character “Batora” fights against the witch “Beatrice”, and sometimes works alongside her to solve challenging cases of incomprehensible closed room serial murder. It was adapted into a TV animation in 2009.
After the announcement of the new “Higurashi” project, “Higurashi” is trending on SNS. Fans have left comments like: “Please also animate Umineko this time!! From episode 1!!
