Web media "Gadget Tsushin" announced the result of "Anime Buzzword Award 2019", which gives awards to anime-related words and expressions buzzed on the internet in 2019.
More than 6,000 people voted, and "back-scratching damn bird", the nickname for G Roadrunner from "Kemono Friends 2", was given the golden award (grand prix).
The golden award "back-scratching damn bird" is the nickname on the internet for G Roadrunner, the character appeared in the 7th episode of "Kemono Friends 2", "Beyond the Speed".
This nickname originated in the four-panel cartoon posted on Niconico Still Image, and the shorter names with non original names such as "damn back-scratching girl" and "back-scratching girl"
were created as well. The word became popular through the support of the fans' emotions and opinions toward the work.
The silver prize was "Shami's fault", originally known as"it is Shamiko's fault" and it is the buzzword which Chiyoda Momo "could possibly say" to Shamiko from "The Demon Girl Next Door".
Although the buzzword did not appear in the original comics and anime, the the opposite phrase, "It is not Shamiko's fault" appeared. Additionally, a similar phrase, "Shamiko is not as bad girl as you believe…!" appears in the original work.
The bronze prize was "cocky servant boy", the buzzword from "Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia-". This phrase was created for the main character, who often stands behind the servants, many of them beautiful ladies, and supporting them, following the system of the original video game. It became so trendy that the phrase has been used in arguments between the "FGO" players, and its high number of users and popularity appeared in numbers, ranking it in the third place despite it being an ongoing fall anime.
Furthermore, "cocky breath", was created using the popular phrase "the breath of ○○" from "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" .
In addition to the phrases above, phrases related to "How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?", such as "You carrying machine guns in those shoulders?" and words that were highly ranked in the first half of the year, such as "Twinkle awesome!" and "Star☆Twinkle Precure" gained many votes.
