Traditional culture x art subculture “KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL” will be held from October 25 and also “SAO” collaboration plan

This is the fourth time of“KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL” , and the theme of this event is “Animate National Treasure”.
Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is known mainly for academic and cultural arts, but in the past it was not only a place for worship, but also a social center of cultural events such as pictures, songs, and sports. It is said that it was also a place to send out culture.
At the event, the national treasure “Kitano Tenjin Engi Emaki” enshrined in Kitano Tenmangu will be exhibitted. At the same time as the exhibition of this work, 6 illustrators active in Japan reinterpret the work and unveil the modern edition of“Kitano Tenjin Engi Emaki” that they created.

Other collaboration projects with the anime "Sword Art Online" ,and with the illustration communication service "pixiv",
the selection of the first year of Reiwa "Sanjyurokugasen (an illustration master of thirty-six)" were also held at the shrine.
A special exhibition of Ikebana, which was selected by the flower arrangement master(Kado Iemoto) Ikenobo in collaboration with each project, will also be held.

In key visual production, collaboration with "Hatsune Miku" has been implemented, and a new life was brought into the national treasure in Kitano Tenmangu.

KYOTO NIPPON FESTIVAL 2019 will be held from October 25 to December 8. In addition to the ticket release information, information regarding a collaboration project with "Sword Art Online" and a special exhibition by "Kadoka Iemoto Ikenobo" will be announced on the event official website as soon as they have been decided.
