The first volume of the comic “Lycoris Recoil: Recollect,” the official spin-off of the TV anime “Lycoris Recoil,” and the second volume of “Lycoris Recoil Official Comic Anthology Repeat” were released on March 23, 2023, from the TV anime “Lycoris Recoil” series.
“Lycoris Recoil” is an original TV anime broadcasted in Summer of 2022 and directed by Adachi Shingo, the character designer and chief animation director for popular works such as “Sword Art Online” and the “WORKING!!” series. Adachi Shingo made his debut as a director with this anime.
The story follows the adventures of “Lycoris,” including a free-spirited optimist named Nishikigi Chisato, and the calm and rational Inoue Takina, who work as agents of the secret organization “Direct Attack (DA),” whose mission is to prevent crimes before they occur. A theater stage version of the anime ran at the Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo in January 2023. The production of a new anime series has also been announced.
Among the comics released, the official spin-off, “Licorice Recoil: Recollect 1,” is written and drawn by Abe Kanari, the author of “HIGH SCHOOL FLEET,” serialized in “Monthly Comic Alive.” This book is the first volume of the spin-off that recollects the daily life of Chisato and Takina at “Cafe LycoReco.” Fans can enjoy the humorous stories of the characters with their cute expressions, gestures, and hyper-energetic conversations.
On the other hand, “Lycoris Recoil Official Comic Anthology Repeat 2” is the second volume of the anthology comic in which Fukagawa Kasumi drew the cover illustration. Responding to the zealous reaction from fans, 15 splendid authors and comic writers have created lively and charming stories of the characters. Enjoy the daily life of Cafe LycoReco as many times as you like.
