The TV anime “Chainsaw Man” will open “Chainsaw Cafe,” a theme cafe based on the concept of a “luxurious patisserie,” for a limited time starting February 2, 2023, in Tokyo and three other cities.
“Chainsaw Man” is a dark hero action manga by Fujimoto Tatsuki, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” and currently in its second part in “Shonen Jump+”. The story depicts a young man named Denji, who makes a contract with the “chainsaw demon” Pochita to pay off the debt left by his parents and lives as a devil hunter, but an incident leads him to become a “chainsaw man” with a demon heart.
The TV anime began airing on October 11, 2022. The opening theme was provided by Yonezu Kenshi, and the ending for all 12 episodes was performed by a star-studded lineup of artists, with the theme changing weekly.
The “Chainsaw Man Cafe” will be open for a limited time, where Denji, Power, Makima, and Hayakawa Aki will greet you in the guise of pastry chefs. The cafes will be located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Tennoji, Osaka, and Nagoya, Aichi, and will offer menus featuring motifs from the anime as well as original goods.
At the café, you can make the “strongest bread” with your favorite jam and pour three kinds of sauces on it just like “Denji’s Strongest Omelette Rice” and unique menu items including the “[Makima] Late Afternoon Punkish Lunch,” which is inspired by relaxing daytime hours.
The “[Hayakawa Aki] Corned Beef Toastie” with corned beef and melted cheese, and the “[Power] Croquette Hammer Short Pasta” with crab cream croquettes that resemble blood hammers are also interesting ideas.
The dessert menu also features a total of four items, including “[Devil’s] Mont Blanc” featuring the demons that appeared in the story, and “[Pochita’s] Pudding Parfait” made with pumpkin. Of course, the drink lineup also includes items inspired by the characters.
The lineup of original café goods at the venue includes “acrylic stands” (four types), “mug cups” and “muddlers with charms”. Each item will also be sold online on the official cafe website from February 2 to April 2.
Pre-ordering for the “Chainsaw Man Cafe” began on January 18, and as a special offer for those who pre-order, a “B4 clear poster” (total of 4 types/random) will be distributed with food and dessert orders, and “original paper coasters” (total of 7 types/random) will be distributed with drink orders. In addition, an “original paper shopper” will be given as a present with the purchase of any café goods.
