Episode 12, “Keep Marching On Instead of Running Off”, which is the final episode of the 1st cour of “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury”, will air on Sunday, January 8, 2023. In this article, we will review episode 11, “The Witches from Earth,” before the 12th episode airs.

“Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” is the latest TV animation of the Gundam series after a seven-year absence. Set in “A.S. (Ad Stella) 122,” an era in which numerous corporations have advanced into space and established a huge economic zone. The story begins when a girl named Suletta Mercury from the remote land of Mercury is accepted into the pilot course at the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the “Benerit Group,” the largest mobile suit manufacturer.

In the previously broadcast episode 11, “The Witches from Earth Witch,” all the members of Earth House dormitory left the academy for Plant Quetta, a huge development facility of the Benelit Group, in order to pick up Aerial.
Suletta, however, is still troubled by her differences with Miorine and she is still not sure what to do.

In this episode, it is revealed that Prospera’s real name is “Elnora Samaya”. It was also suggested that she is connected to Delling, whom she is supposed to hold a grudge against, and social networking sites were filled with puzzled voices such as “Mother, what are you thinking!” and other puzzled comments.

The relationship between Suletta and Miorine, which had remained at cross purposes at the end of the previous episode, was also depicted.
Suletta is suspicious that she is not needed by anyone and tries to distance herself from Miorine, but Miorine confronts Suletta head-on.

Suletta’s heart was melted by Miorine’s straightforward words, such as “Don’t run away from me,” “Tell me you’ll take care of it,” and “Stay by my side,” making for an impressive reconciliation scene.
Many people on Twitter were moved by this scene, posting such comments as “I wonder what kind of feelings Miorine has been accumulating until she was able to say this,” “Too emotional,” and “It’s a wonderful scene that shows how much they care for each other”.

In the final stages of the episode, Shaddiq’s plan to kill Delling is set in motion, and Sophie Pulone and her group, calling themselves the “Earth Witches,” destroy Plant Quetta. Suletta and Miorine are caught up in the attack and are separated from each other.

Will Delling, the students of the Earth House, and Suletta and Miorine be able to return safely? We look forward to the next installment.
