It was announced that the 3rd film of “Sumikko Gurashi” will premiere in 2023. At the same time, the commemoration illustration by the author Yokomizo Yuri was released.

“Sumikko Gurashi” are the popular characters that are loved by children and adults with their cuteness and also the slightly pessimistic and surreal world setting. This series was born from the keyword “You can relax here” in 2012, and it has welcomed its 10th anniversary this year.

In 2019, the first animated film “Sumikko Gurashi The Movie – The Pop-up Book and the Secret Child” was released. Unexpectedly, this film trended on the social network due to being “A family oriented anime work that let not only children but also adults shred tear unconsciously”, and it also recorded a total of 1.22 million audience. This film has also won the “Best Animation of the Year” at Japanese Movie Critics Awards, and it received a great feedback as it was premiered in countries other than Japan, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

Last year, the 2nd film “Sumikko Gurashi The Movie: A Magical Child of the Blue Moonlit Night” was premiered. With the theme of “Dream”, it become famous due to the heart-touching universal story, and attracted 1.03 million audiences. As both films has attracted more than 1 million audiences, it has become a “popular” series.

Now, as the finale of the commemorative 10th anniversary, the production of the 3rd film was announced. The commemoration illustration by the author Yokomizo Yuri was released. The illustration depicts the number “3” jumped out from the opened present as well as the shocking and happy appearance of Sumikko Gurashi characters.

“Sumikko Gurashi 3rd Film” is scheduled to be premiere on 2023 in Japan.
