The January 2023 issue of “MOE,” a monthly magazine that proposes a life with picture books, will feature “Ghibli Park,” a theme park that visualizes the world of Studio Ghibli’s works. The release date is December 2nd.
Ghibli Park is a park where visitors can experience the world of Studio Ghibli, which opened in November 2022 at Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Aichi Prefecture. The park is known as the site of Expo 2005, which was held under the theme of “The Wisdom of Nature”. Surrounded by lush forests, the park is still popular among the local residents.
Goro Miyazaki, the director of Studio Ghibli who directed the production of “Ghibli Park,” designed the buildings to blend in with the scenery, as he wishes to conserve the natural surroundings. Designed with the theme “a place where you can meet the real things,” the park provides visitors with nostalgic scenes from the movies before their eyes.
The January 2023 issue of “MOE” will feature an article titled “Let’s Visit Ghibli Park!: An Ultimate Guide to Enjoy the Park at Max.” The article also features the “10 Things to Do in Ghibli Park,” a tour of the three areas that opened in the first phase; “Ghibli Grand Warehouse,” “The Hill of Youth,” and “Dondoko Mori.”
There will also be an interview with the director Goro Miyazaki, who discusses his intentions to “create a park instead of a theme park,” as well as interviews with the craftsmen behind the beautiful architecture of the park, including plasterers, tile makers, and violin makers.
The frontispiece, “Map of Aichi Expo Memorial Park and Ghibli Park with MOE’s recommended spots,” is also a must-check.
The January 2023 issue of the monthly magazine “MOE,” with a large-scale feature on Ghibli Park, will be on sale on December 2 for 930 yen (including tax). It will be available at bookstores nationwide and online.
