Animation production company Studio Colorido announced an online film festival to commemorate its 10th anniversary on May 6 and 7. 7 films, including “Penguin Highway”, “A Whisker Away”, and “BURN THE WITCH” will be streamed on YouTube for a limited time.
Studio Colorido is an animation studio founded in August 2011. Its first feature film, “Penguin Highway” released in 2018, won the 42nd Japan Academy Prize for the Animation of the year.
In 2020, they produced the original web animation “Pokémon: Twilight Wings” of “Pokémon Sword Shield” and the film “BURN THE WITCH” based on the original story by Tite Kubo.
The company has continued to produce many high-profile works including its 2nd feature film for Netflix distribution, “A Whisker Away”, which ranked top 10 most viewed movies in over 20 countries worldwide.
On May 6 and 7, Studio Colorido will host an online film festival in commemoration of its 10th anniversary. The lineup includes 7 films: “Hinta no Aoshigure”, “Shashinkan”, “BUBU and BUBURINA”, “Penguin Highway”, “Susume, Karolina”, “BURN THE WITCH” (first episode only), and “A Whisker Away”. The movies will be available on TWIN ENGINE’s official YouTube channel.
To commemorate the festival, a special video celebrating the 10th anniversary of Studio Colorido’s establishment will be also released. The video is full of Studio Colorido’s unique characteristics, such as the contrasts between the usual and the extraordinary, the dynamic visual effects, and the adorable characters.
In addition, during the festival, comments from the cast members who have appeared in previous movies and newly drawn illustrations by the staff will be published on the Studio Colorido official Twitter account.
