“Sumikko Gurashi no Benkyo ga Suki ni Naru Houhou (How to Enjoy Studying with Sumiko Gurashi),” the third book from the “Kyou Kara Waku Waku Book (Excited from Today)” series that advises readers on how to enjoy studying by letting them learn with the characters of “SUmikko Gurashi”, is on sale now. The product is available at bookstores and online bookstores nationwide from February 4th, 2022.

“Sumikko Gurashi no Benkyo ga Suki ni Naru Houhou (How to Enjoy Studying with Sumikko Gurashi)” is the third book from the “Kyou Kara Waku Waku Book (Excited from Today)” series. The first book, titled “Sumikko Gurashi no Otomodachi to Nakayoku Suru Houhou (How to Make Friends with Sumikko Gurashi),” introduced tips for elementary students to get along with their friends. The second book, “Sumikko Gurashi no Jikan no Tsukaikata ga Jyozu ni Naru Houhou (How to Spend Time Wisely with Sumikko Gurashi),” advised elementary students about time management.

“Sumikko Gurashi” are the characters produced by San-X with the theme “Being in the corner makes us feel calm somehow.” The characters are slightly negative but have unique personalities.
The worldview not only attracts children but also adults, and the first movie “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Unexpected Picture Book and the Secret Child” was released in 2019. Moreover, their second film, “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Magical Children of the Blue Moonlit Night” has been released in November 2021 and is still showing in theaters.

The new book consists of three chapters, “Chapter one: Benkyo te Nan Darou (What is Studying?)”, “Chapter two: Gakko wa ‘Tanoshi’ ga Takusan (There are a Lot of Fun Things at School)”, and “Chapter three: Benkyo ga Suki ni Naru 11 no Kotsu (11 Tips to Enjoy Studying)”, allowing readers to learn to “enjoy studying” through quizzes, charts, etc.
Also, the book has enjoyable columns with stories of “Sumikko Gurashi”.

“Sumikko Gurashi no Benkyo ga Suki ni Naru Houhou (How to Enjoy Studying with Sumikko Gurashi)” is on sale for 950 JPY (tax excluded) from February 4th, 2022, at bookstores and online bookstores nationwide.
