From the “Space Battleship Yamato” series, a trailer for “Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage: Part Ⅱ -STASHA-” has been released. Along with that, a production staff interview video “Aratachi no Naritachi (How “A New Voyage” was Born)” was also released. In the video, the staff including the director Kenji Yasuda talks about their passion for the film.
“Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage” is a completely new film based on “Space Battleship Yamato: A New Voyage,” an exclusive TV program broadcasted in 1979. The film portrays Yamato’s new voyage with its new head Susumu Kodai, disclosing two chapters. The former chapter “Part Ⅰ -TAKE OFF-” was screened on October 8th. The film was also released through Blu-ray special limited edition and Electronic Sell Through on the same day.
The trailer for “PART Ⅱ -STASHA-” allows the fans to take a peek at the film, which will be on the screen and other streaming services from February 4th, 2022.
In the interview video “Aratachi no Naritachi,” the production staff including Kenji Yasuda (director), Harutoshi Fukui (scriptwriter and organizer), Junichiro Tamamori (mechanical design), Mika Akitaka (mechanical design), Kio Edamatsu (prop design), Hiroyuki Goto (CG director), Akira Miyagawa (music), Tomohiro Yoshida (sound effect director), Shinya Asanuma (concept artist/special effect/mechanic design director), Naomichi Yamato (ep.3 producer), Ryo Nakamura (settings), Shinya Ogura (settings research) appear and share their thoughts on the film. This video is also a must-check for the Yamato fans.
The former chapter “Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage: Part Ⅰ -TAKE OFF-” is currently available in theaters, on Blu-ray special limited edition, and Electronic Sell Through. “PART Ⅱ -STASHA-” will be available for limited screening on February 4th, 2022.
