“Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2021” The physical event for the first time in 2 years! It will be held on October 30 and 31

After handling the countermeasure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, “Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2021” will be held physically in Ikebukuro for the first time in 2 years. It will be held on October 30 and 31, and the main venue included Ike Sunpark and others. The ticket is currently available since noon of October 9, 2021.

“Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival” is an event that started in 2014 with over 20,000 cosplayers participating each year, and it is a lively event as Japan’s largest Halloween event that is held in the east area of Ikebukuro.

Due to the spread of the COVID-19, this event was held online in 2020, but after handling the countermeasures to prevent the spread, it was decided to be held physically in Ikebukuro in 2021. In order to prevent overcrowding, all the tickets on sale will have a limited quantity.
For those who purchase the ticket, instead of the signature tote bag that was distributed annually, the mask with an original design will be distributed. It was announced that the mask must be worn all the time while participating in this event.

The main venue for this year will be Ike Sunpark instead of the usual Chuu-Ikebukuro Park. For the stage activities, it will include the “Ike Sun Runway” to show off their proud cosplay, and the final judging of the contest “Cosplayer Of The Year 2022” to decide the face of the cosplayer in 2022.
At the same area, there will be photo spots with the panels of the popular characters from anime and manga. And it is planned that Sunshine city (Sunshine Plaza, Pedestrian Deck, Horizontal Stair, and Hotel area) will be used as a venue.

The ticket sale has started at noon on October 9, 2021. The novelties for the “Premium Passport” is entry to the venue one hour in advance of the starting time, the usage of the hospitality area with the fixtures and cosplay dock as well as a personal resting area. It will also come with a free one-way trip ticket for the IKE BUS to arrive at the venue conveniently.
For the “Cosplay Registration Ticket”, the holder is able to use the changing room, storage room, as well as being photographed at all the photography areas. The “Photographer Registration Ticket” is the participation fee as a photographer for this event, and they are able to take photos at all the photography areas as well as the usage of the storage room.
