“Ron’s Gone Wrong”, the first feature length film to be released by the up-and-comer spirited British CG animation studio “Locksmith Animation”, released cutscenes containing the lovey and clumsy B-bot, Ron.
In Japan, soon after the release of the trailer and images from the movie, the lovely looks of the robot quickly gathered a lot of attention in social media, with comments such as “Very funny (laughs) This clumsy bot is really charming”, “Ron is really adorable!”, and “So cute… I’m already in love because of the visuals”.
The newly released cutscene images feature the clumsy bot, Ron, being “lovely just by standing still”.
Although clumsy, Ron also has a mischievous side. In order to understand more about the lonely boy Barney, for some reason Ron tests whether or not his trousers will burn, then proceeds to wear the torched trousers on his head. It is almost as though every single thing Ron sees in front of him is a new experience for him.
The other images also show Ron, who can’t change his body appearance due to being an analog robot, wearing a knitted hat, displaying a rather simple look that stands out among the other B-bots used to display their owners’ quirks through flashy looks. Barney’s classmate, Savannah, can also be seen using her B-bot to livestream on social media.
Ron even shows his charm through different expressions. In this scene he attempts to make a funny face by changing his own eyes to circle shapes simulating the binoculars being held by Barney sitting next to him. The teaser images leave a taste of what can be expected from the movie.
“Ron’s Gone Wrong” premieres on October 22, 2021 throughout theaters in Japan.
