The 4K remastered edition of director Oshii Mamoru’s “Ghost in the Shell” will be getting an “IMAX” screening, and it will be released in both Japan and America on September 17, 2021. The comments from director Oshii have been released.
“Ghost in the Shell” is a worldwide known science-fiction animated film that has gotten the 1st place in the all-America Billboard video sales chart since its release in 1995. The charming heroine and the lively actions that were shown on the precise footage together with the universal theme that asks about the “Human Nature”, had influenced various creators.
It was announced that the 4K remastered edition will be getting an “IMAX” screening. Due to the technology at the release date, a large amount of information was hidden in the 35mm film. Now, with the remastering of the high 4K definition, the touch of the drawing lines, detailes of the background, and the coloring on the dark scenes, can be seen in the more vivid image on the screening in the IMAX theatres.
The comments from director Oshii Mamoru regarding this screening are “I’m happy that this work gets a new form every time when there is a technology advancement. I believe it was a good thing that this work can be seen in the theatres in this era. Please look forward to it.”
The IMAX of “Ghost in the Shell 4K Remastered Edition” will be released on September 17, 2021, on 35 nationwide theatres.
