It was announced that the latest work of director Hosoda Mamoru, “Belle: The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” has exceeded 5 billion JPY in terms of gross revenue. In order to commemorate this, the “7 minute and 48 seconds” digest on the crucial scenes of the movie was broadcast for the first time on TV on the second half of “Kinyoubi Roadshow (Friday’s Roadshow)” on August 20, 2021.

“Belle: The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” is the latest work of director Hosoda Mamoru, who is known for “Summer Wars”, and “Mirai”.
This is a youth story that started when Suzu, a female high school girl who has trauma after her mother’s death when she was young, become a worldwide songstress “Belle” in “Another Reality”, the internet virtual world, “U”.

After one month from its release, the gross revenue of “Belle: The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” has exceeded 5 billion JPY. After “The Boy and the Beast”, this work is the closest to renewing the highest gross revenue of director Hosoda Mamoru. And to commemorate this, the “7 minute and 48 seconds” digest on the crucial scenes of the movie was broadcast for the first time on TV. It was broadcast on the second half of the “Kinyoubi Roadshow” on August 20, 2021, which is “The Cat Returns”, with no editing.

The digest depicts the crucial scenes when the “Songstress Belle” become popular after the main protagonist Suzu, who is unable to sing even her favorite song due to her troubles in reality, joined the internet world “U” upon the recommendation by her friend Hiro-chan.

The movie “Belle: The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” is currently available at the theatre.
