To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the “Lupin III” anime adaptation, “Is Lupin Still Burning?”, a short OVA directed by Monkey Punch, will be screening together with “The Castle of Cagliostro”(4K+7.1ch specification). It will be the first time for “Is Lupin Still Burning?” to be screened.
“Is Lupin Still Burning?”, which will be screened for the first time, is a short original animation produced by Monkey Punch as
general director to conclude the 50th anniversary of the manga “Lupin III”. It was distributed as a bonus on a first come first served basis for Vol. 1 of “Lupin III PART 5” BD & DVD released in 2018, and it has become a rare item that you don’t have an access today.
The story features Mamou Kyosuke, Momochi Sandayuu, Pycal, Mister X, Stoneman, etc. They are the characters that have troubled Lupin and his supporting characters in the past, and they challenge Lupin and his supporting characters again in it. This will be an excellent opportunity for the fans to see the must-see story on screens.
The double screening of “The Castle of Cagliostro”(4K+7.1ch specification) and “Is Lupin Still Burning?” will be held nationwide exclusively for two weeks from October 1, 2021.
Moreover, Blu-ray BOX of “Lupin III PART 4” will be released on August 25, “Lupin III DEAD OR ALIVE”, which was directed by Monkey Punch for the first time, will be available for rental on “Hulu”, “Amazon Prime Video”, and other platforms from September 15.
