It has been announced that the TV anime “Girls’ Frontline” will be broadcast and distributed worldwide in 2022. At the same time, the first key visual and PV were released, and comments from cast members Tomatsu Haruka, Yamane Nozomi, Kato Emiri, Tamura Yukari, and theme song artist yukaDD have arrived.
“Girls’ Frontline” is based on the training and strategy simulation game of fighting “T-dolls” – anthropomorphic robots with fire in their arms. The story is set in the world of the future where technology has developed, and depicts a fierce battle, spun by “T-dolls” with guns, who are mechanical life forms with capabilities far beyond humans.
The first key visual released this time shows four T-dolls M4A1, M16A1, ST AR-15, and M4 SOPMOD II, running through the forest with weapons in their hands. The appearance of the AR platoon that seems to be in operation is a finish that is reminiscent of one scene in the work.
In addition, the first released PV focusing on the world view of the work and the characters of the AR platoon were also unveiled. It starts with the narration by Tomatsu Haruka as M4A1 in the world after World War III along with the animated video of the main part.
Furthermore, from the middle of the video, the opening theme “BAD CANDY” by yukaDD(;´∀`) can be heard. T-dolls, who are indistinguishable from humans at first glance, fighting under the song with English lyrics that leaves a cool impression, and expectations for the release are rising.
The TV anime “Girls’ Frontline” will be broadcast and distributed worldwide in 2022.
Tomatsu Haruka as M4A1
Q1. Could you tell us your impression of this work?
Compared to when I was working on the game and short anime, I felt that the degree of seriousness of this TV anime is much higher. Since the player was the commander in the game and it did not appear at the time of the mini anime, the history of “Girls’ Frontline” itself is quite long, but I think that a new world view of “Girls’ Frontline” is drawn again.
Q2. Could you tell us your impression of the character you play and your hopes for the role?
Some personality ofM4A1 remains the same such as the calm vibe toward people that I used to. But when it comes to battle in this anime, there are some brushed-up things like cool-headedness behavior and powerful moments, so I think fans of “Girls’ Frontline” will be able to see a new side. Of course, I think that even those who are new to “Girls’ Frontline” will enjoy this TV anime.
Yamane Nozomi as M16A1
Q1. Could you tell us your impression of this work?
Unlike the previous mini-anime, I got the impression that this one is more profound and serious. There are many battle scenes anyway.
It’s not uncommon for each character to be tense, which makes me feel sad, but I feel that the daily scenes that give a glimpse of them are even sweeter.
Q2. Could you tell us your impression of the character you play and your hopes for the role?
Anyway, I decided to play cool.
She is very experienced among the AR platoon, and she seems to have emotional leeway, so I was careful not to be too emotional.
I would like everyone to take this opportunity to make the M16 exciting. Of course, even in anime, there are a lot of sugar content with M4.
Kato Emiri as ST AR-15
Q1. Could you tell us your impression of this work?
Even if you haven’t played the game yet, there are many serious storylines that will make you wonder about what is gonna happen next!
There will be many girls who are anthropomorphic versions of famous guns, so those who like guns will enjoy it more!
Please watch what faith is waiting for them.
Q2. Could you tell us your impression of the character you play and your hopes for the role?
ST AR-15 is calm and composed comparing with other members, and she braces others with her own words.
I thought it would be great if I could express the kindness that conveys the importance of her companions from her words.
Tamura Yukari as M4 SOPMOD II
Q1. Could you tell us your impression of this work?
There are a lot of girls, so I was wondering if I need to play chatter but in fact everyone is tough. Cool. And fashionable. I’m sorry I don’t have the vocabulary, but when I came in touch with the story and the music of the theme song, I felt that way.
Q2. Could you tell us your impression of the character you play and your hopes for the role?
At first glance, SOP II seems to be full of energy and laid-back, but she is caring and is a very passionate girl. I want to transfer her charm to as many people as possible.
yukaDD
I will be in charge of the theme song for the TV anime “Girls’ Frontline”.
It is a great honor to be involved in such a wonderful work.
I’m excited to watch it as soon as possible.
Various emotions and conflicts sway in the battles, and there is no other way but to move forward in the epic battle.
Still, the characters of “Girls’ Frontline” who continue to move forward with a strong belief, I hope this song will push everyone’s back as much as possible.
And I hope it will give you an opportunity to get to know yukaDD(;´∀`) through the theme song of “Girls’ Frontline”.
