Hakuoki Announces New OVA Series
A new “Hakuoki” OVA was announced. Along with the announcement, a teaser visual, a new character, and additional casting for the live-action were also revealed.
Starting off as a sim dating game titled “Hakuoki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~, Demon of the Fleeting Blossom: The Tale of the Shinsengumi”, the “Hakuoki” series expanded into a multimedia franchise for which installments include a TV Anime, a stage play, a musical, and OVA adaptations. Set at the closing days of the Edo era, the series plot dramatizes the battles of the Shinsengumi men in a unique style.
The released teaser visual for the new anime OVA series shows the character Hijikata Toshizo unsheathing his sword lit under the moonlight. A new character Sakai Hyogo is set to appear in the new OVA.
Additionally, the 2nd round of cast members for the live-action drama “WOWOW Original Drama Hakuoki” were also announced. The additional members are Wakayanagi Kotoko as the heroine Yukimura Chizuru; Yano Masato as the leader of the third division of the Shinsengumi, Saito Hajime; and Kanai Sonde as the First Division Captain of the Shinsengumi, Okita Soji.
