It was announced that the first original water polo anime “Re-main” will start on July 3, 2021, on TV Asahi’s midnight anime slot “NUMAnimation”. Along with this announcement, the key visual and the additional cast members, including Uchida Yuuma, have been revealed.
“Re-main” is an original anime that is being produced by the first partnership between Nishida Masafumi (“Tiger & Bunny”), where he will handle the episode’s scripts, general director, series composition as well as the music director, and the animation production company, MAPPA (“Jujutsu Kaisen”).
The main protagonist of the story, Kiyomizu Minato quit water polo due to a certain happening in the winter of his third year in middle school. After he started high school, due to a certain promise with someone, he started water polo with the friends he met there. However, there are various difficulties faced by this small water polo club.
It was announced that the main protagonist, Kiyomizu Shimizu will be voiced by Uemura Yuuto, and the other participating voice actors are Nishiyama Koutarou, Kimura Subaru, Saito Souma, Furukawa Makoto, Hatanaka Tasuku, Hirose Daisuke, and Lynn. Now, three additional cast member that will be voicing the teammates of Minato during his middle school years, were announced.
Momozaki Riku, the ace of the water polo of Shogakukan High School, will be voiced by Uchida Yuuma, Kakihana Keita, the “motherly” existence that watches over everyone, is voiced by Yashiro Taku, while the optimistic, smiling Toguchi Kouki is voiced by Miyazato Shun.
Also, the latest key visual has been revealed. It is an emotional scene of summer, where 7 members of the Yamanami High School’s water polo, including Minato, are taking a commemoration picture while they are cleaning the pool.
