The science-fiction movie “Terminator” will be animated as a Netflix original animated series. Production I.G will be in charge of the animation production.
This was announced by Netflix with the American film production company Skydance, and will be the first animated adaptation of “Terminator”.
The film will be executive produced by Mattson Tomlin of Netflix’s “Project Power” and “The Batman” films, and the animation will be produced by Production I.G, which signed a comprehensive business partnership with Netflix in 2018 for “Ghost in the Shell” and “B:The Beginning”.
Upon the decision to produce the film, Ishikawa Mitsuhisa, President of Production I.G, said, “When I asked Oshii Mamoru, who I’ve known for a long time, what he thought about the idea of making an animated version of ‘Terminator,’ he said, ‘Ishikawa-san, are you insane? This convinced me that I should do “Terminator”. We look forward to hearing more from him.
