Light Novel The Eminence in Shadow Gets an Anime Adaptation
Originating from the novel publishing website “Shosetsuka ni Naro”, “The Eminence in Shadow” will be adapted into an anime.
The anime will bear the same name of the original work, which is a light novel written by Aizawa Daisuke. The novel has won 1st place in the “2019 New Light Novel General Election” under the category of New Literature, in the Books Division, selling a total of 1 million copies.
The protagonist Sid has always been obsessed with the idea of being an “eminence in shadow”, not the protagonist neither the last boss, but a mob character who hides his true power, and secretly influences the story from the shadows. He gets the chance to re-enact his fantasy after being reincarnating in a different world. By the use of his overactive imagination, Sid in jest creates an imaginary evil organization to fight against, and subordinate girls who worship him. However, unbeknownst to him, he somehow becomes the actual eminence in the shadow, and his fabricated fantasies turns out be real. Sid must now lead the “Shadow Garden” which will destroy the darkness of the world.
The voice cast, broadcast and other information regarding the TV adaptation of “The Eminence in Shadow” will be announced in the future.
