The 1st PV of “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S”, the second season of the anime series by Kyoto Animation, has been released. It was announced that director Ishihara Tatsuya will take over the position of director Takemoto Yasuhiro and the new dragon “Ilulu” will be voiced by Mineuchi Tomomi.

“Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” is a comedy anime by Kyoto Animation and the first season was broadcast in 2017.
It depicts the almost warm interaction between dragon girls and humans with some black interspecies interactions.

The second season “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” will depict the interspecies communication between humans and the “dragons” that had found their own place, like Tohru, who works as “Kobayashi-san’s” maid due to certain reason’s, Kanna, Lucoa, Fafnir, and Elma. One day, Kobayashi-san is facing a threat from a new dragon…

The contents of the 1st PV was depicted with a rap from Kobayashi-san, the familiar 4 dragon girls (Tohru, Kanna, Elma and Lucoa), and the new dragon “Ilulu”. The PV has also announced that Mineuchi Tomomi will voice Ilulu.
What sort of development can be seen with Ilulu entering the fray? Do look forward to the broadcast.

“Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” will start broadcasting in July 2021. Also, “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” Blu-ray Box that contains the extra episode, episode 14 and the bonus trailer “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon 〇〇” will be released in April 21, 2021.

I’m Ishihara Tatsuya, who will be handling “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” as the director.

Normally, it would be hard to take over a work that was handled by other directors, but I believe that there is no one other than me who can succeed in this position. So, I have taken up the position with that belief.
On first glance, this work seems to be an attracting comedy work with cute characters , but I believe that the hidden messages that delve deep into human mind and society are also quite interesting. In the first season, there is a scene where Tohru complains to Kobayashi, “You sound like a human being who has deviated from nature,” and this is the fun of this work, and it is a consistent part of the seriesas if you are saying humans had separated themselves from nature” toward Kobayashi is one of the appeal points of this work as it makes us realize on the cheekiness of a human. These types of scenes can be seen throughout the series, and it won’t be changed even when the director has changed.

Takemoto has said previously that mutual agreement between dragons and humans is not needed in this work as they are able to maintain a neutral relationship without understanding each other. The foundation of this work is the small time frame of living together with interspecies despite different lifespans and being unable to understand each other. So, with that in mind, I will work on the production of the enjoyable, bright, and home comedy “S”.

Once again, I am happy that I am able to participate in this work in this manner. I would like to make this work to be able to be enjoyed by everyone regardless whether you are a fan or new to this series. Moreover, with the participation of the new character Ilulu, “Maid Dragon” will become brighter, so do look forward to it.
