December 25 is Christmas. Due to the spread of COVID-19, this year was a year with not many opportunities to meet your family, lover, or friends.

Christmas is the day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in Christianity. In Japan, it’s a day you spend time with your family and lover. The question is if you could spend Christmas with an anime character, who would you want it to be?

We at Anime!Anime! conducted the annual survey asking, “Which Character Would You Like to Spend Christmas With?”
There were 214 votes received during the survey period from December 8 to 15.
The voters were mainly female with a gender ratio of 25% male to 75% female, and the gender range was on the younger side with 45% under 19 and 30% in their 20s.

These are the results for male characters.

■Topping the list was Amuro Tooru from “Conan”! There were also votes for Furuya Rei
1st Place
The character receiving the most votes was Amuro Tooru from “Detective Conan” with roughly 17% of the votes.

Readers said, “I want him to host a Christmas party at Cafe Poirot”, “He’s a good cook, so I think he would make a delicious Christmas dinner”, and “I want to chill out with him with bourbon, sandwiches, and some potato salad,” expressing that they want to enjoy Christmas with the gentleman.

Amuro’s true identity, Furuya Rei, was also popular. He received comments saying they want him to take some time off his busy schedule, such as “I love Fruya-san courageously taking on his job. I’d love to spend time with him, but he’s probably busy on Christmas day”, and “He’s such a nice guy that he’d probably make time no matter how busy he is.”

2nd Place
Coming in 2nd was Gojou Satoru from “Jujutsu Kaisen” with roughly 7% of the votes.

The teacher from Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School fascinates fans with his overwhelming power, receiving comments like, “It’ll be the best Christmas in many ways.”
There were also comments such as, “His personality isn’t perfect, but he looks like he knows how to treat a lady and is kind,” and even a comment pointing out how he likes sweets, “He likes sweets so I want to enjoy a cake together with him.”

A character who you can’t predict their Christmas ranked at 2nd place.

3rd Place
Levi from “Attack on Titan” took 3rd place with roughly 4% of the votes.

Levi is also a strong man who is said to be the most powerful soldier of humankind.
He received comments such as, “December 25 is Levis’s birthday! How can I not celebrate the birthday of the most powerful man and Christmas together!”, and “I’d love to have a cup of the captain’s favorite tea with him on his birthday.”
The broadcast of “The Final Season” maybe one of the reasons for his popularity.

For Sugimoto Saichi from “Golden Kamui”, “He would probably lend me his scarf when going to see Christmas lights together.”

For Nakahara Chuuya from “Bungou Stray Dogs”, “I want to have some drinks with him! And see Chuuya-san getting drunk!”
There were also votes for Tony Tony Chopper from “One Piece”, a character of an animal, related to Christmas, “He’s a reindeer, which is related to Christmas. Moreover, his birthday is December 24.”
