It was revealed that the original author, Sorachi Hideaki, is participating in the production of the film, “Gintama: The Final” (to be released on January 8, 2020). It was also announced that 4 designs of original drawings by Sorachi himself will be given to the audience for the 2nd and 3rd week.
The original author was involved in the production of the original drawings for the film. This is the first time he drew original drawings for the anime series, which has continued for 15 years. There are a total of four scenes including the illustration of the Yorozuya trio: Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, and Kagura, drawn by him.
The four original drawings have been decided to be given to the audience for the 2nd and 3rd week. Two out of the four will be given at random on the 2nd week, and the other two on the 3rd week.
The drawings will include handwritten messages from the 31 staff members, including the main cast and director. The messages are filled with 15 years of memories and backstage stories that were hidden until today, making the drawings a must-have item for the fans.
Also, Sugita Tomokazu (voice of Sakata Gintoki), Sakaguchi Daisuke (voice of Shimura Shinpachi), and Kugimiya Rie (voice of Kagura) have been announced to appear in “Jump Festa 2021 Online”, which will be held online for two days from December 19, 2020. The Yorozuy trio will deliver us the latest information about the film, “Gintama: The Final”, as “Gintama Times”.
The cast members commented on their performances.
The film “Gintama: The Final” will be released on January 8, 2021, at nationwide theaters.
Sugita Tomokazu Comment
What? We’re doing it? You’re kidding!
This is going to be the last?! Don’t lie to us!
I’ll wait with a bat in my hand.
Sakaguchi Daisuke Comment
That time of the year has come again. But I feel a bit confused, because this year, it’s going to be an online event.
We’ve proven how sloppy the Gintama stage can be without an audience in last year’s Niconico Live, haha. We’ll be laid back this year, too.
Kugimiya Rie Comment
I’ve always kept it casual, but this time, it’s a bit different, so I’m quite nervous.
I only wish you will all enjoy the show.
Please take care of yourself!
