Fans rejoice as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” Rengoku-san achieves “30 Billion Man” status. Hanae Natsuki also expressed his gratitude on Twitter.

As of December 13, 2020, the box office revenue of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie Mugen Train” (currently in theaters) has surpassed 30.2 billion JPY, only 600 million JPY away from the 30.8 billion JPY earned by “Spirited Away,” the number one film in Japan’s all-time box office revenue ranking. In response to this, the film became such a hot topic on Twitter that key words such as “Rengoku-san is a 30 billion man” entered the Twitter trend. Hanae Natsuki, the voice actor who plays the role of Kamado Tanjirou, also wrote about his gratitude to the audience.

The original story of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is a Japanese-style dark fantasy that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020 by Gotouge Koyoharu.
The TV anime “Kamado Tanjirou Life Goal” was aired from April to September 2019 with 26 episodes, and this movie version “Mugen Train” follows from this.

In its ninth week since it was released, the film recorded 407,286 viewers and 588,408,200 JPY in box-office revenue on December 12, and 248,024 viewers and 351,003,000 JPY in box-office revenue on December 13.
The total box office revenue surpassed 30.2 billion JPY, ranking second to “Spirited Away,” which took the top spot in Japan’s all-time box office revenue ranking with 30.8 billion JPY.

In response to this news, a number of key words started trending on Twitter, including “Rengoku-san a 30 billion man”.
“I heard that Rengoku-san has become a 30 billion man.”, I’m so sorry. No, it was the way it was supposed to be. I’m relieved that I was able to make Rengoku-san a 30 billion man! Rengoku-san! Congratulations! Congratulations!”.

Hanae Natsuki, the voice actor who plays the role of Kamado Tanjirou, also thanked the fans of “Kimetsu” on Twitter, saying “Thank you for watching this movie.”
The movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie Mugen Train” will start showing in MX4D and 4DX on December 26th, and is expected to continue to grow at the box office.
It will be interesting to see how it develops in the future.
