As a special project to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “Chibi Maruko-chan” anime adaptation, “Maruko’s Folktales” will be broadcast for five consecutive weeks, starting on Sep. 27.
Chibi Maruko-chan” is set in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (now Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture) and describes the daily life of Maruko (Sakura Momoko ), the second daughter of the Sakura family, and her family and friends in the city.
“Maruko’s Folktales”, a menu item for autumnal fun, is a variation of “Folktales” for each episode, and the episode aired on Sep. 27 will be based on “Omusubi Kororin” (the Rolling Rice Ball).
In addition, stories based on “Kasajizo” (the Child Gods), “Momotaro” (Peach Boy), “Journey to the West” and “The Three Little Pigs” will appear in “Maruko’s Folktales”.
Chibi Maruko-chan” is currently airing every Sunday evening at 6:00 pm on Fuji Television Network. “Maruko’s Folktales”, a special series for fun in autumnal, will be broadcast from Sep. 27.
