There are many characters related to flowers or other plants in anime, including those with a talent to use plants as a weapon, a romanticist, who knows a lot about the language of flowers, a fairy to manipulate flowers, a staff member at a flower shop, and others drawn in various ways. There are also characters inspired or symbolized by flowers. Who comes on the top among them?

Anime!Anime!, then, carried out a readers' survey titled as “Who is the most famous character related to “flowers/plants” appearing in anime?”. The survey conducted from Jul. 23, 2020 to Jul.30, 2020, and got 130 answers.
The male to female ratio was roughly 30% to 70%, and female readers accounted for a large percentage. Young people accounted for a large percentage with about 50% of under 19 year-old readers and about 30% of readers in twenties.

■The characters related to flowers got higher ranks!

No.1
From “Yu Yu Hakusho”, Kurama with about 7% support ratings.

Kurama with a fox spirit can freely manipulate plants. A lot of fans remembered him manipulating his Rose Whip, saying “He is fighting with a plant as a weapon. Moreover, he looks better with roses than anyone.”
The red rose matches his hair color, which makes him look more glamorous.

No.2
From “Demon Slayer”, Tsuyuri Kanao and from “Black Clover” , Mimosa Vermillion with same ratings.

Tsuyuri Kanao is a swordswoman of the Demon Slayer Corps, and uses the Flower Breathing. Some readers left comments such as “The word, flower, reminds me of Kanao-chan,”and her last name “Tsuyuri” also reminds us of flowers.

Mimosa is a magic knight using Plant Magic. Some comments arrived such as “Mimosa is a pretty girl born in a royal family. She uses the Plant Magic inspired by flowers. It's really beautiful and elegant,” and “Her name Mimosa is a botanical name of Ojigi-so (Mimosa pudica)”

■Other comments are below!!
For “HeartCatch PreCure!” Cure Blossom.
'Among Pretty Cures inspired by flowers, Hanasaki Tsubomi is familiar with the language of flowers as her parents' house runs a flower shop. I also like her signature phrase “The flower spreading throughout the land, Cure Blossom!”'
For “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” Tuxedo Mask.
“He is a snobbish character, who looks good with roses. He is super cool when he protects Sailor Moons by throwing roses!”

For “Rilu Rilu Fairilu ~Yousei no Door~” Lip.
'The theme reminded me of Fairilus of “Rilu Rilu Fairilu” series straightaway. Many Fairilus related to flowers and plants appear, but I'll vote for Lip as a representative for this.'
For “Pokémon” Bulbasaur.
“I remember that he drove off with Vine Whip when Heracross sucked his necter. He is like a brother of Pokémon as he gets pokemons together when they are fighting each other.” Some readers voted for the non-human characters.

Some characters to fight with flowers and plants were ranked in the top. Others include a ghost, swordsman, wizard, Pokémon, and others.
