A new trailer and visual of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” (premiere on Oct. 16, 2020) have been released. In addition, it has been announced that LiSA will continue to be in charge of the theme song as in the TV anime series.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is originally a manga of the same title by Gotouge Koyoharu, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump”. When it was adapted into TV anime in 2019, the painful story of humans and demons, the dreadful sword fights portrayed with dynamic images, and the comical characters became popular, and even after the end of the anime, it is still getting a lot of attention.
This film is connected with the scene from the last episode of the TV anime titled “New Mission” where the main character, Kamado Tanjirou, and his friends jump onto the “Mugen Train”, which is the setting of this work.
The visual depicts the contrastive figures of Tanjirou grinding his teeth while releasing his full power to attack repeatedly, and the strongest enemy, Enmu, smiling fearlessly while being in a calm mood.
The new trailer starts with the threatening words of Enmu, “To be able to die while dreaming… just how lucky are you?”. The next scene shows Tanjirou reuniting with his supposedly deceased sisters, Hanako and Shigeru, and then he senses something and says, “Wake up, we're under attack!”, encouraging himself. The battle between Tanjiro and Enmu, which takes place on the running Mugen Train, is a thrilling sequence of actions.
The trailer also marks the first unveiling of the theme song “Homura” by LiSA, which adds a new coloring to the story with the collaboration of Kajiura Yuki, who also worked on the ED of the TV anime series. Comments from the cast including Hanae Natsuki who voices the protagonist Kamado Tanjirou, Hino Satoshi who voices Rengoku Kyoujurou, and LiSA & Kajiura Yuki who are in charge of the theme song have also arrived.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” is set to be released in theaters on Oct. 16, 2020. Advance tickets will be available for sale from Aug. 7.

Hanae Natsuki as Kamado Tanjirou
Since when I read the original work, there were many scenes in “Mugen Train” that I wanted to play, so I'm very happy to be able to play them in the movie. The recording session was a very exciting moment filled with the voice actors' passionate feelings. After it was over, I screamed so much that I actually thought, “I'm glad I didn't die” until I was burnt out.
It is going to be a great film with beautiful music and scenes produced by ufotable. As a fan, I can't wait to see it. Keep your expectations high!
Kitou Akari as Kamado Nezuko
It's been a long time since the last dubbing session for Demon Slayer. Everyone, including me, was fired up to see the movie adaptation of Mugen Train, which is one of the most popular chapters in the original work! Even though the movie's images were not finished in the recording stage, it was tearful to see the great passion that my colleagues put in their performances, so I hope that the final version will exceed your expectations! Enjoy the movie!
Shimono Hiro as Agatsuma Zen'itsu
The new trailer is amazing…
Of course, there's a lot of new information that can be caught from the footage, but most of all, the movie's theme song “Homura” made it even more exciting. I can't just wait to see the entire movie! Fans, look forward to it!
Matsuoka Yoshitsugu as Hashibira Inosuke
I've seen the trailer, and as expected, the quality of the footage is amazing! I'm very happy that we were able to do our best as voice actors. The enthusiasm in the recording studio was so intense that I almost broke off my heart, but I kept moving forward. I could be aware once again of the amazing power of dialogue. I think that all the fans will be both laughing and crying at this movie, which I hope you'll watch it on the big screen in theaters! Thank you for your support!
Hino Satoshi as Rengoku Kyoujurou
Thank you to everyone who has been looking forward to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train”. With the new trailer being released, I feel tense by the fact that the day of the film's release is finally coming. The “Mugen Train” arc will be a hard mission for Rengoku Kyoujurou's beliefs as a Pillar and for Tanjirou and his team. I did my best in the recordings, so keep your expectations high!
Hirakawa Daisuke as Enmu (Lower Rank 1)
The recording of the scenes was greatly intense with the cast's performance being so realistic and full of passion that I had to control my emotions while voicing Enmu. I hope you will be able to feel the outstanding beauty of the images and music of this movie, along with the cries of the characters' souls.
LiSA
Following on from the TV anime, I'm in charge of the theme song for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train”. Since it is my favorite chapter in the original work, I feel like this song is very special to me.
I hope that every character in the story and every fan who feels sad right now will be able to move forward strongly with the flame burning in their hearts.
Kajiura Yuki
I'm honored to be able to work with LiSA again after the TV anime series.
Among the dramatic episodes of Demon Slayer, the story of the Mugen Train has made a strong impression on me, which is why I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. I hope this song will reach everyone's heart who has watched the movie!
