Unlimited anime streaming service “d Anime Store” announced the results for the survey titled “Popularity Ranking for Summer 2020 Anime-What do you watch for this season?”, which asked users about which summer 2020 anime do they currently watch.
A total of 69,421 votes were collected and the 1st place went to “Re:zero-Starting New Life in Another World 2nd Season”, the 2nd place went to “The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants”, and the 3rd place went to “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld”.

The 1st place “Re:zero-Starting New Life in Another World 2nd Season” is the 2nd season for the popular anime in 2016 called “Re:zero-Starting New Life in Another World”, which the male protagonist tries to overcome his fate filled with despair by repeating reincarnation for multiple times.
The anime received 8,447 votes and marked the most votes from 20's with 2,164 votes and 40's with 2,328 votes. It was the most popular anime for both male and female users.

The 2nd place “The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants” is a fantasy which the demon lord, who finally awoke and reincarnated from sleep lasted for 2,000 years, goes up the demon hierarchy regardless of the fact that he is considered to be a misfit among the students who go to the academy where fosters the applicants for the next demon lord.
The anime received 7,344 votes and gained the most popularity in 50's with 1,208 votes. It was 2nd most popular for males users and 3rd most popular among the female users.

The 3rd place “Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld” is the last chapter (2nd season) for “Alicization Arc”, which depicts the ending of the war between the human side and the dark side, which involves the entire Underworld.
The anime received 6,921 votes and gained wide popularity from several age groups, including ranking in the 2nd place among the votes in 20's with 1,744 votes. It also ranked in the 3rd place among the male votes, and ranked in the 4th place among the female voters.

“Rent-A-Girlfriend” ranked in the 4th place with 5,274 votes and “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” ranked in the 5th place with 5,257 votes.
The male users ranking reversed the 4th and the 5th place of the general ranking. For the female users ranking, “Fire Force 2nd Chapter” ranked in the 2nd place, and “Fugo Detective-Balance: UNLIMITED” ranked in the 5th place.
