Cuts of the new picture drama “Epilogue Plus -Yume wo Genjitsu ni-” (The Dream Comes True) have been released as extra contents of the Blu-ray & DVD “Plus Ultra” edition of “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” (to be released on July 15). In addition, comments from Yamashita Daiki, Okamoto Nobuhiko, Terasaki Yuka, and Kurosawa Tomoyo who appear in the film as the voice actors have been received.

“My Hero Academia” is originally a manga with the same title by Horikoshi Kouhei, which is serialized in the magazine “Weekly Shonen Jump” (Shueisha) and has sold more than 26 million copies in total in the series. The latest film “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” recorded a total of 1.33 million spectators and earned 1.76 billion yen at the box office.

The extra contents of the picture drama include a new visual and footage that combines characters’ voices, background music, and sound effects.
“Epilogue Plus -The Dream Comes True-” is a sequel to the film “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” and a new story depicting Deku, Bakugou Katsumi, and the original characters from the latest movie, Mahoro and Katsuma, who are brother and sister.

The Blu-ray “Plus Ultra” edition of “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” is priced at 7,800 JPY (tax excluded), and the DVD is priced at 6,800 JPY (tax excluded). The product is set to be on sale from Jul. 15, 2020.

–Please tell us your thoughts now that the recordings are
finished.

It’s a story about the time when he defeated Nine and was engaged in the repair work on Nabu Island. Even though he’s not completely recovered from his injuries, he’s very positive and encouraging. And most of all, I wasn’t expecting to be able to talk to Katsuma and Mahoro, so I was very happy. I’m sure that all the fans who watched the movie love both of them, so I think they will appreciate their return on the screen.

–How did you feel about the interaction between the four characters throughout the film and picture drama?

It’s a relationship that I found to be as warm and inviting as ever. I think that the picture drama is a flash in the pan, while the movie version was a raging battle without a break, so I feel more relaxed now.

— Which are the highlights you suggest to watch on the Blu-ray & DVD ver.?

To be honest, I feel like I get tired of remembering those exciting parts since it takes a lot of energy and strength to watch them over and over again (laughs). I hope you can watch it with ease and enjoy it in your own way and find out something new. When I feel worried or I want to make a new challenge, I will watch it to receive great energy and do my best!

Okamoto Nobuhiko as Bakugou Katsumi

–Please tell us your thoughts now that the recordings are
finished.

I was happy to hear the voices of Mahoro and Katsuma after a long time. As for Katsuma, I genuinely wanted him to be a hero. It’s a heartwarming story that I’d encourage anyone who knows the movie to see it.

–How did you feel about the interaction between the four characters throughout the film and picture drama?

I thought Bakugou was very interesting to be called by younger children in the same way as by his peers. I was called “Bakugou!” in the main story, and I still want to be called “Bakugou!” by Maho-chan even though I’m older and I have experienced a lot of things.

— Which are the highlights you suggest to watch on the Blu-ray & DVD ver.?

The Plus Ultra edition has been made by all the staff and cast members, and I think that represents the high level of fun, strictness, and worthiness of this work. I’ve been able to spend a very fulfilling time being involved with everyone as an actor. I especially want you to see the fight scenes that have been added as new cuts of the movie.

Terasaki Yuka as Shimano Katsuma

–Please tell us your thoughts now that the recordings are
finished.

It’s been a while since I’ve been Katsuma, I was even told, “You’re getting old!”, so I needed to fix it (laughs). I remember laughing all the way through and having a great time recording it! We worked at a distance, but we were able to record together and share the time we spent together to play. I was truly grateful to the staff, it was one of the most unforgettable jobs I’ve ever had.

–How did you feel about the interaction between the four characters throughout the film and picture drama?

What I felt through Katsuma is that “we are not alone”. It is truly one for all, all for one. I was reminded that having friends and things to protect makes a person grow up a lot. Will Katsuma now be able to become a hero…? I’m so happy to have played such a deep character I fell in love with that I’m curious to see how the story will progress!

— Which are the highlights you suggest to watch on the Blu-ray & DVD ver.?

It’s really cool to see everyone standing up to the strongest enemy, Viran, and I always forget that all of them are still children. The moment I remembered that, it was impossible to watch them working together to protect each other and win against such a strong opponent after many tries and mistakes without crying. It was. I want you to watch the last battle between the A-1 class and Nine over and over again!!

Tomoyo Kurosawa as Shimano Mahoro

–Please tell us your thoughts now that the recordings are
finished.

It’s been a long time since the last recording, I was very nervous! It’s a story that is integrated into the timeline of the movie, so I was very happy to see everyone again.

–How did you feel about the interaction between the four characters throughout the film and picture drama?

It was a hard and full-filled dubbing session since I had two contrastive feelings; the excitement to remeet Deku and Kacchan, who grabbed my heart since the first time I met them, and my will as sister to protect my brother. I felt again how amazing a hero can be.

— Which are the highlights you suggest to watch on the Blu-ray & DVD ver.?

The scenes are amazing! I hope you can enjoy the very detailed depictions and the playfulness that comes out through several scenes. Also, I think the music that supports the story could have the power to change your feelings in the middle of your daily life!
